Thinking about…

Came across this quote by Katrina Gulliver this morning:

Thanks to Twitter, I have been sent copies of obsure articles much faster than I would have received them from an interlibrary loan. I just need to tweet “Does anyone have access to the Journal of X, 1972?” and within an hour someone will have e-mailed me the PDF. It’s tremendously useful.

(10 Commandments of Twitter for Academics)

Spending some time rolling it around in my head.  Curious as to how crowdsourcing affects or will affect librarianship.  Also, thinking more about embedded librarians.

Addendum (5/23/12):  Aaron at Walking Paper wrote about Pirate University today.  Also mentioned the #icanhazpdf  hashtag.
